The second annual Colusa County Farm to Fork Dinner helps to illustrate the bounty that exists within the Colusa area. Friends and supporters gathered in the record heat to enjoy rice, fresh fruit salads, lasagna and of course, olive oil. From the fresh flowers to the beautiful table decorations and the music, it was an evening to remember. The bounty that springs from the Sacramento Valley is something that many people take for granted and it is good to sit down with those people who labor each day to ensure that we have food on the table.
Events like the Colusa Farm to Fork dinner happen all over the state, bringing people together with the farmers that produce in ways that allow both consumer and producer a chance to learn about each other. Sacramento is called the Farm to Fork capitol and hosts both a large farm to fork dinner and the Sacratomato Week. These events are a great way to highlight the importance of agriculture to the state along with bringing more understanding of how farmers use water to produce a sustainable food source for California and the world.
