SB88 (2015)

The California Farm Bureau (CFB) has provided members with a compliance guide for the new regulations for surface water diversions. These changes were part of SB88 (2015) and have added requirements and penalties for water users who divert over 10 acre-feet per year. As of July 1, 2017 they must measure and report the amount of water diverted and used. Those water users who divert less than 10 acre-feet per year must report, but do not need a new measurement device. There are also exceptions for those diverters using a water master. In addition to the information, the CFB has also listed several vendors that can supply the needed monitoring devices for compliance with the new rule.
