John C. Harris Presented With PLF's 2013 Foundation Of Freedom Award
Pacific Legal Foundation’s 2013 Foundation of Freedom Award was presented to John C. Harris, the world renowned business leader who serves as Chair of PLF’s Board of Trustees, at PLF’s 40th Anniversary Gala in February. The gala was held at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
Based in Sacramento, donor-supported PLF is a nonprofit watchdog organization that litigates nationwide for limited government, property rights, individual rights, free enterprise, and a balanced approach to environmental regulations.
PLF’s Foundation of Freedom award honors respected leaders who strongly advocate for PLF’s values: support for ordered liberty, human dignity, and the fundamental right to own and make responsible use of private property.
“John Harris is an invaluable leader, guide, counselor, and cheerleader for PLF,” said PLF President Robin L. Rivett. “PLF’s 2013 Foundation of Freedom Award has been awarded to one of freedom’s most dedicated and effective advocates.”
Harris is CEO of Harris Farms/Harris Ranch. He is a member of PLF’s Board for 15 years, he has served as its Chair since March, 2010.
“I am honored and grateful to receive this recognition,” said John Harris. “My work with PLF is a source of pride and satisfaction. For 40 years, PLF attorneys have been in the trenches, fighting for everybody’s constitutional freedoms, and for the Founders’ legacy of liberty and limited government. It is a privilege to be a part of an organization that has done so much for so many people, and has literally changed the course of history, by winning important precedents for property rights and freedom, in courtrooms from coast to coast.
Family Water Alliance, Ashley Indrieri, Chief Operations Officer was please to attend the event. “John Harris has been an unwavering voice for California farmers and ranchers and I can think of no one more deserving of this award”.
